The number of years and the speed at which we feel ourselves living through years is highly, directly proportional. Yet, the human mind can comprehend meticulously taking in the details of every passed day to a surprising degree of accuracy…if you put your mind to it. This is not backed by scientific study, of course, but I am witness to this phenomenon, so, perhaps that counts for something.
Reading my younger self writing about 6 months at Vercel transports me right back to those days. The same happens if I wonder through the 1 and 2 years milestones. Not even the remote nature of work is a blocker to the real and lasting association you end up stitching with the fabric of working together with a team over 3 years. Time invested becomes time cherished.
The speed at which we feel ourselves living through years is highly, indirectly proportional to the caliber of the people we get to spend it with.
